Janis Mitchell

Mrs. Janis Mitchell, 71, of Manila, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Great River Medical Center. Mrs. Mitchell was born on March 18, 1944 in Newark, Arkansas to the late Roy and Mable Hodges Hamilton. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the Ravenden Baptist Church, graduated in 1961 from Manila High School, retired owner of Jan’s Video store in Manila and Jonesboro, enjoyed fishing, dancing, singing, and spending time with family, especially grandchildren. Survivors include; her husband of 31 years: Jimmy Mitchell of the home; two daughters; Sondra Walls of Heber Springs, Arkansas and Janet Gail Mitchell-Spargo of Charlotte Hall, Maryland; two brothers: Gary Hamilton of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Albert Hamilton of Escondido, California; one sister: Wanda Wilson of El Cajon, California; seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by; her parents; husband: Ted Regan; two sons: Rickey Regan and Steven Mitchell; one daughter: Donna Adams; two brothers: Roy Hamilton, Jr. and Gene Hamilton; three sisters Betty Barber, Mary Nelson, and Brenda Hamilton. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church, Caraway, Arkansas with Bro. Gary Galloway officiating. Interment will follow at the Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until service time. Pallbearers: Gary Galloway, Kyle Clements, Jeremy Eldridge, Michael Spargo, Tyler Lewis, Sam Fleming, and Cody Hamilton.
