Donald Lee Coleman

Mr. Donald Lee “Duck” Coleman, 81, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, died on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at his home. He was surrounded by family, daughter, Terri Coleman, grandson, Jason Huffman, and son, Richard Pearcy. Mr. Coleman was born on June 28, 1934 in Bono, Arkansas to the late Watson M. and Mary L. Meeker Coleman. Mr. Coleman was a member of North Main Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas, a United States Army Veteran, owned Coleman’s Pawn Shop in Jonesboro, enjoyed fishing and skiing, and was respected by many and a friend to all.Survivors include; one daughter: Terri Coleman of the home; one son Richard Pearcy of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two grandsons: Jason Huffman of the home and Derrick Pearcy and wife Sarah of Peru, Indiana; one granddaughter: Brynne Pearcy of St. Louis, Missouri; two brothers: Carl Coleman and Dale Coleman and wife Carolyn all of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two sisters: Edith Henderson of Saginaw, Texas and June Houston and husband Arnold of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and a host of other family and friends. Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by; his parents; five brothers: Alvie, Ernest, Kenneth, Eugene, and Darrell Coleman; three sisters: Thelma Garrison, Betty Overman, and Mary Coleman. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 12:00 noon at the North Main Baptist Church, Jonesboro, Arkansas with Pastor Andy Neil and Bro. Bobby Crabb officiating. Interment will follow at Union Grove Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from11:00 a.m. until service time. Pallbearers: Josh Maxwell, Brian Smallman, Josh Marsh, Jason Huffman, Jim Goodman, and Larry McAnally. Honorary pallbearers: Darrell Vaughn, Ken Short, Bob Hatley, Dale Williams and the small town of Mellwood.

    Don was a Great Man, Great Businessman, Great Fisherman and my Great Friend!!! He was always the first to call me every year with a " MERRY CHRISTMAS" and a few Days later "HAPPY NEW YEAR"!!!! I always enjoyed doing business with him whether it was at his Pawn Shop or my Small Engine Shop. We always had a ball fishing together!!! Mr. Don Coleman was a Friend of mine that I'll miss FOREVER!!!

    I just found out and hate that I could not be there, I loved this man like a dad he always was so active and loving and always took care of me when I was younger, wish I could have seen him one more time.
