Jerry L. Gates

Jerry L. Gates, 82 of Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017. He was born on August 6, 1935 in Blocher, Indiana. He enjoyed going to church, fishing, hunting, shopping at flea markets, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include; six sons: Charles Gates of South Carolina; William Leroy Gates of Pennsylvania; Lewis Allen Gates of Thayer, Missouri; Sheldon Gates of Salem, Indiana; Jerry Gates, Jr. of Burton, Michigan; and Daniel Gates of Batesville, Arkansas; seven daughters: Wilma Gates of Bryson, North Carolina; Rose Schneck of Lebanon, Pennsylvania; Linda Holtzman of Greenville, South Carolina; Melissa Gates of Salem, Indiana; Rebecca Dennis of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Julie Miller of Flint, Michigan; and Sarah Frishcosy of Flint, Michigan; thirty grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of other family and friends.He is preceded in death by his parents: William Frank Gates and Lucille Coomer-Gates; two brothers: Larry Gates, and Carl Gates; two sisters: Mary Gardner, Lula Missmore; and five grandchildren: Antonia, Otto, Skye, Troy, and Macyla.Pallbearers: Charles Gates, Jr., Richard Neal, Daniel Gates, Jerry Gates, Jr., and Earl Schneck. Honorary Pallbearers: Branden Miller, and Michael Gates. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:00a.m. at the Store Front Pentecostal Church in Batesville, Arkansas with Pastor Ira Brokaw officiating. The family will receive visitors from 10:00am until service time under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
