Lilly Mae Romine

Lilly Mae Romine was born the daughter of Oscar Waugh and Hazel (Stewart) Waugh on October 11, 1946 in Caraway, Arkansas, and departed this life on November 4, 2017 in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 71 years.She was united in marriage on November 10, 1979 in Corinth, Mississippi to John E. Romine. She is survived by one daughter, Stacy Lyn (Romine) Orman and husband Greg of Sardis, MS; one son, Steve Hooker and wife, Missy of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; three granddaughters; four grandsons; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Reggie Waugh and wife Sharon of Caraway, Arkansas, two sisters, Joan Toombs of Caraway, Arkansas and Regina Atkins of China Grove, North Carolina; nieces and nephews; two God children, Michael Hayes of Bandera, Texas and Kaitlyn Marie Pelletier of Cottonwood, Utah; very special long time friends, Larry and Cheryl Hayes of St. George, Utah; other relatives and many friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Waugh and Hazel Guthrie; her husband of thirty-four years, John E. Romine; three brothers J.L. (Pank) Waugh, Bill Waugh and Lanny Waugh; and three sisters, Martha Waugh, Nell Armstead, and Fay McDaniel.Lilly worked for many years in the river transportation industry and was also a real estate agent. She was an active member in her church and community. She volunteered many years as a leader and mentor for girls' GA camps and was an active participant in many other organizations including Food Pantry and Salvation Army. Lilly was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Caraway. She will be remembered for her dedication to the Lord and devotion to her family. She will truly be missed by her family and friends. Memorial Service will be Friday, November 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Caraway, Arkansas with Bro. Charles Morgan officiating, under the direction of Faith Funeral Service, Manila, Arkansas.
