James E Stevens, III

James E. Stevens, III, 78, of Bay, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at NEA Baptist Hospital. He was born on March 24, 1939 in San Diego, California to the late James E. and Vera Anderson Stevens. He was currently employed by Allied Security Services, a retired meat cutter from Lucky Stores in California, a reserve police officer for the city of San Diego, a member of the Army National Guard in California, and a member and former president of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Eureka, California and Jonesboro, Arkansas.Survivors include; six children: Jody Nichols (Mark) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jimmy Stevens (Brenda) of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Shelley Woods of Bay Arkansas, Dolly Kelly (Mike) of Ontario, California, John Owens of San Bernardino, California, and Crystal Owens of California; three sisters: Jeannie Bohnstein, Verna Wilson, and Penny Andersen; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; his beloved Sadie; and a host of other family and friends.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Bonnie Jean Stevens; one sister: Kathy Stevens. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 at the Bay United Methodist Church at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Bay Veterans Memorial Park, 220 Elder Street, Bay, Arkansas 72411.
