Tom Johnson

Tom Johnson, 79, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at his residence. He was born on May 30, 1938 in Tupelo, Mississippi to the late Albert Dickson and Ila Mae Lawson Johnson. He was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and cooking out with the family.Survivors include; his wife of sixty years; Hazel Johnson of the home; one daughter: Alice Smallmon (Charles); one son: Mike Johnson (Darcy) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two grandchildren: Chris Johnson (Blair) of Bono and Delilah Johnson of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two great-grandchildren: Zendaya and Cassie Johnson both of Bono, Arkansas; and a host of other family and friends.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by; one daughter: Doris Johnson; four brothers: Bill, James, Wesley, and Glen Johnson; one sister: Jeannette Manning; two granddaughters: Chrissy and Shianne Cook; and one son-in-law: Pat Cook.Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Jonesboro, Arkansas with Bro. Wendell King officiating. Interment will follow at Gibson Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Pallbearers: Chris Johnson, Kevin Smith, Dyllon Eldridge, Ronnie Koons, Roy Johnson, and Jeremey Johnson. Honorary pallbearers: Freddie Wright, Charles Smallmon, and Robert Jordan.
