J.B. Smith

Mr. J.B. Smith, age 83 of Trumann, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Born September 12, 1931 in Lake City, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Robert and Joan Stanley Smith and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Smith was a retired Army staff sergeant and enjoyed watching TV, sports, talking on the c.b. and fishing. He is survived by one daughter: Laura Powers and Roy of Spokane, Washington; two granddaughters: Dana DeJarnette and Scott of Trumann, Arkansas and Jackie Simpson and Billy of Trumann, Arkansas; one grandson: David Barnes and Megan of Trumann, Arkansas; four brothers: Jack Smith of Colorado, Hoarace Smith of Tennessee, Von Smith of Bay, Arkansas and Gary Smith of Truman, Arkansas; one sister: Ola Mae Fletcher of Black Oak, Arkansas. Mr. Smith also leaves seven great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Gladys Smith. Memorial services will be Friday, November 21, 2014 at 11:00am at the Broadway Baptist Church in Bay, Arkansas with Bro. Rick Jensen officiating.
