James William "Dub" Hampton

Heaven received another “special” angel, J.W. “Dub” Hampton, age 78 of Marmaduke, Arkansas, on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Mr. Hampton was born June 6, 1934 in Mounds, Arkansas, to the late Floyd and Rosetta Silkwood Hampton. Dub enjoyed many thins during his life including attending church, fishing, riding his bicycle, cutting wood and gardening with his dad and visiting family and friends. Dub was a friend to anyone who knew him and a great big brother to his ten younger siblings. Survivors include; six brothers: Roy Hampton of Marmaduke, Arkansas, Kenneth Hampton and wife Glenda of Marmaduke, Arkansas, Charles Hampton and wife Donna of Marmaduke, Arkansas, Rickey Hampton and wife Vicki of Delaplaine, Arkansas, Mickey Hampton and wife Belinda of Marmaduke, Arkansas, Michael Hampton and wife Leisa of Haysville, Kansas; four sisters: Linda Russom of Paragould, Arkansas, Shirley Mansfield and husband Bob of Halliday, Arkansas, Sandra Worley and husband Alton of Brandenburg, Kentucky and Sharon Green and husband Buddy of Rector, Arkansas; many nephews and nieces; and a host of other family and friends. Mr. Hampton was preceded in death by his parents and one sister-in-law: Badillia Hampton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church, Marmaduke, Arkansas with Rev. Kim Bridges officiating. Interment will follow at Harveys Chapel Cemetery, Marmaduke, Arkansas under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the church from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Pallbearers: Roy Hampton, Kenneth Wayne Hampton, Charles Hampton, Rickey Hampton, Mickey Hampton, Michael Hampton, Buddy Green, Alton Worley, and Bob Mansfield.

    To the Hampton Family members I know, and to the ones I do not know. My love and prayers go out to all of you on the loss of Dub. My thoughts will be with you as you celebrate Dub's life and as you grieve for his loss. Know that he is with with Our Lord and Savior and his Mom and Dad. He is at peace.
