Jimmie Lee Smith, Sr.

Jimmie Smith, Sr., 73, of Kennett, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018 at his residence. Jimmie, son of Bob Smith and Mary Ruth Smith, was born May 20, 1944 in Deering, MO. Smith was retired from Home Depot and Emerson Electric. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. Smith is survived by his mother, Mary Ruth Smith of Kennett, a brother, Tommie Smith (Betty) of Bragg City, a sister, Rose Mary Dawson of Kennett, three sons, Jimmie Smith Jr. (Shelia) of Dyersburg, TN, Bruce Smith (Angie) of Holcomb, George Smith (Melissa) of Sealy, Texas; three daughters, Cassandra Shawn Maher of Knoxville, TN, Mia Boren of Piggott, AR, and Tisha Tilmon (Eric) of Kennett. Smith is also survived by five grandsons, Tyler Smith of Knoxville, TN, Trey Smith of Kennett, Bryson Tilmon of Kennett, Justice Midkiff of Piggott, AR Nathan Stipanuk of Sealy, TX; four granddaughters, AnnaGrace Burgin of Knoxville, TN, Jayden Parnell, Marleigh Parnell and Carlee Tilmon all of Kennett; a niece, Kandy Wilburn of Kennett, a nephew, Steven Smith of Bragg City; two great nieces, Morgan Guest and Natalie Guest of Kennett and one great nephew, Connor Smith of Bragg City. Smith was proceeded in death by his father and his daughter, Shana Lynn Smith.Memorial services will be held at Solid Rock Church in Kennett, with Reverend Parr officiating on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m
