James Dinsmore

James (Jim) King Dinsmore, 81, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Jim was born November 9, 1935, to William Joseph and Helen King Dinsmore in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He married Cecile Endicott in Claymont, Delaware in 1959. He was a graduate of P.S. DuPont High School in Wilmington, Delaware and the University of Delaware with a degree in Civil Engineering. He served three years as an officer in the U.S. Navy and six years in the Reserves. He went to work for the DuPont Company while in college and continued after his Naval service. He was employed at the Photo Products Plant in Parlin, NJ, then two years in Wilmington, DE and then in 1975 he came to Jonesboro with the construction of the DuPont Medical Products Plant. After 13 years the production was moved to Puerto Rico and Jim and family were transferred there. Jim later retired to Mountain Home, AR. Jim loved the outdoors, enjoyed the lake, the rivers, the wildlife, and growing things. He was a volunteer at Baxter Regional Medical Center, in Mountain Home, for almost 20 years. He loved sports and over the years was a volunteer at school sporting events. Traveling and family vacations were his favorite past times. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, William, Jr. and his daughter, Dana Dinsmore Jones. He is survived by his wife, his sister, Margaret D. McEowen, of Baltimore, Maryland, three daughters, Jamie Dinsmore, Salt Lake City, Utah, Tracey Bjarnson (Finn), Provo, Utah, and Kristen Jensen (Matt), Cottonwood Heights, Utah and son-in-law Barry Jones of Jonesboro, AR. He leaves 13 grandchildren, Dustin, Corey, Tanner, and Kannon Jones, Brooke, Maia, Owen, and Summer Bjarnson, Sophie, Quincy, Henry, Katie and Oliver Jensen. He has four nieces and one nephew. A private memorial service will be held July 5 in Utah.
