Obituary

Mrs. Alice Blackwell Jones, 67, of Jonesboro, Arkansas died on Friday, August 10, 2012 at St. Bernards Medical Center. Mrs. Jones was born on October 16, 1944 in Ripley, Tennessee to the late Juanita Slatton. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Cathedral Baptist Church and enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and going to auctions. Survivors include: two aunts: Lenora Lewis and Eva Coffee; four sister-in-laws: Gail Herndon, Glenda Moman, Betty Kirksey, and Mary Lou Stevens; two brother-in-laws: Lawrence Jones and Jerome Jones; and a host of cousins and other family and friends. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her mother and her husband, Arvel Jones. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 13, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the New Harvest Family Worship Center with Rev. Marty Russell officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Log Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday, August 13, 2012 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm.
