Norma Kee Taylor

Norma Kee Taylor, 77, of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. She was born on December 4, 1940 in West Ridge, Arkansas to James Louis and Adelaide Kee Mobley. Norma was a lifelong resident of Northeast Arkansas and called Walnut Ridge home for the past eight years. Following in her mother Adelaide’s footsteps, Norma spent her adult life serving the women of the communities she lived in as a salon owner and hairdresser. For nearly 50 years, she served several generations of women at her salon in Walnut Ridge, James Beauty Salon. Norma was proud of her work and that work ethic further inspired the women in her family who include her daughter Angie and granddaughter Stephanie. When not cutting, clipping or dyeing, Norma loved the life onboard cruise ships traveling on 30-plus cruises over the years with her husband James and sister Martha. She also was an avid reader and “puzzler” but, most of all, she relished time with her family which was her number one priority. Survivors include; her mother: Adelaide Maddox of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; one daughter: Angie Barnett of Baltimore, Maryland; one granddaughter: Stephanie Taylor Bond and husband Devin Benton of Dallas, Texas; one sister: Martha A. Morgan of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and two nephews C.D. Morgan II. of Leesville, LA and Sean Morgan of Huntsville, AL.She was preceded in death by; her father: James Louis Mobley; and her husband: James H. Taylor.A celebration of Norma’s life will be hosted by the family where all friends and neighbors are welcome. Join them on Saturday, March 24th from 2pm – 4pm at the “Red House” on E. 3rd Street in Walnut Ridge. In lieu of flowers a donation can made to the Lawrence Hall Nursing Center, Walnut Ridge.
