Joe Thompson

Joe O'dean Thompson Born February 21st, 1944, in Steele, Missouri, he was the son of the late Ross and Matilda Thompson. He departed this life on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016, at Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett, Missouri. Joe was a resident of Steele throughout his entire life. He spent a lot of time "out on the Bayou" (as he would say), where he was raised. Mr. Thompson is survived by two daughters: Shonda Grays, and husband Charlie, of Blytheville, Arkansas and Tara Paradise of Florida. He also leaves behind one son, Joseph Quick, and wife Ashley, of Senath, Missouri. He is also survived by two daughters, Leesa Johnson, and husband Ken, and Martha Kinnon, and husband Richard, all of Kennett, Missouri. He has one brother, Gary Thompson of Steele, Missouri, and two sisters: Jennie Chambers and Edna Everly, both of Alabama. He was a grandfather to Lauren Grays, Lillian and Isabelle Paradise, Carli Quick, and Keneal, Kenrea and KenJhia Johnson. As well as a host of extended family and friends. In 2005, he married his beloved wife, Sharon Quick, who preceded him in death in 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a number of brothers and sisters. Graveside services for Joe will be Saturday, March 26th, 2016 at Oak Ridge Cemetery, in Kennett, Missouri at 11:00 A.M. Officiating the service will be Pastor Jim. Faith Funeral Services from Manila, Arkansas are in charge of the arrangements. His son, grandson, and other family members will serve as pall bearers.
