Obituary for Connie Jo MorganConnie Jo Ford Morgan, 61, of West Plains, Mo., was born October 25, 1954, in Kennett, Mo., to Joe H. and Glenda Smith Ford. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 24, 2016, in Kennett at Heritage Nursing Center with her family around her. She survived and won her battle with breast cancer in 2006, but ten years later, after being diagnosed in December of 2015, Connie lost her battle with lung cancer. However, she lived a full life that included traveling to China with her students. She loved God, family, friends, the outdoors, history, teaching and life. Connie graduated Fort Zumwalt High School at O’Fallon, Mo. in 1972. She was the first woman to be hired onto the Senath Police Department in the early 1980s, she was an EMT, and worked over ten years in the emergency room at Dunklin County Memorial Hospital, now Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center. In 1995, she received her Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in History at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, as well as her Master’s degree in 1996. For approximately 17 years, she worked part time at Air Evac in West Plains while teaching, and at the time of her death, she was an Assistant Professor of History and Honors at Missouri State University on the West Plains campus. She taught history and was the chair of many committees for approximately 18 years.Survivors include her mother and father, Glenda and Joe H. Ford of Hornersville; one son, Joey and Tonya Langdon; two grandchildren, Morgan and Michael Pasion and Kade Langdon, all of Marmaduke, Ark; one sister, Laura Ford and one brother, Scott Ford, both of Hornersville; and many relatives, friends and students. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 2, at the Arbyrd Church of Christ in Arbyrd with Alvin Leach officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be sent to Arkansas Children’s Hospital Foundation (Cardiac wing); 1 Children’s Way Slot 661; Little Rock, AR 72202-3591.Faith Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

    I'm so Sorry to here this about Connie! She was such a great friend in school ! She was always the friend you could count on in giving sound advice. I lived in the Steeple Chase Sub. not to far from she lived, so we visited a lot . She'll be truly missed!
