Byron Jerome Carter, Sr.

Byron Jerome Carter Sr., 53, of Manila, AR. passed away June 7, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Byron was born in Mississippi County, AR and spent most of his adult life in Mississippi and Poinsett Counties. He was a 1981 graduate of Central High School in Poinsett County. A mill wright by trade, he began his career working in his grandfather and father's business (Davis and Carter Welding). He was a 20 year employee of Nucor Steel- Hickman Plant at the time of his death. He enjoyed bee keeping and working in his yard. He also loved hunting and fishing, and through his hunting experiences was an avid gun collector. Byron was preceded in death by his grandparents: George Byron and May Sands, his grandmother: Lucinda Johnson Davis, and his father: Larry Jerome Carter. He is survived by his wife: Tami Lynn Carter, of the home, his step-grandfather: Willard Davis of Harrisburg, his mother: Martha Carter-Moeser of Evening Shade; his brothers: William Christopher and Rhonda Carter of Jonesboro, Jason Travis and Tracey Carter of Manila; 3 sons, 2 daughters and 2 sons by marriage: Christina Lynn Carter of Colorado, Brandon James Carter of Colorado, Bruce Allen and Valerie Carter of Texas, Megan Victoria and Rodney Adams of Central Community Harrisburg, Byron Jerome Jr and Julie Jones-Carter of Tyronza; Jonathan and Diana Edwards of Maryland; Chase Edwards of Mississippi County; 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The memorial will be held at his favorite restaurant, Red Lobster, on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at 2:00 PM for family and friends to enjoy a good meal and to celebrate the life of Byron Jerome Carter. Only hors d'oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the American Cancer Society.

    beautiful obituary! my step-brother was a great person, and will be missed by his entire family. including the following family members who were not mentioned:step-mother - Evelyn Irene Carter step-sister - Vicky Joyce Grady Step-brother - Stephen Earl Cookit's obvious who sent in, or set up this obituary, and I'm not blaming your company. just please understand that these step-relatives were VERY MUCH a part of Byrons life.
