Marvin Dale Bibbs

Mr. Marvin Dale Bibbs of Trumann, Arkansas, celebrated his passage into heaven on May 31, 2014, at the age of 65 after a long battle with cancer. He leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Polli Bibbs, three children, James Paul Rowlett (and Sarah), Cindi, Carter (and David), and Misty Bibbs, and 8 grandchildren, Samantha, Riane, Jack, Rachel, Mary Lauren, Jimmy, Bella, and Laley, all of whom he loved very much. His friends and loved ones are simply innumerable. Mr. Bibbs was the son of Chester “Bud” Bibbs, deceased, and Eugenia Bibbs, now 93 of Manila, Arkansas. He has three brothers Jerry Bibbs of Michigan (and Carol), Jimmy Bibbs of New Orleans, Louisiana, Danny Bibbs (Krystal) of Olatha, Kansas, and one sister, Peggy Brooks (Donnie) of Manila. Dale had just retired from Roach Manufacturing on July 16, 2013, after 26 years of service. He was an impressive operator of the Wiedemann Metal Punch at Roaches. He was also a former carpenter and could build or fix anything he set his mind to. He was a very versatile and most talented man. He was always willing and able to help his neighbors, friends and family in anything they needed him to do. Dale had many interests in life, but the center of his attention was always his family, his church, his faith and his testimony of salvation to others. He played bass guitar on the church worship team and he looked forward to each church service so that he could be used of God. He was known to start a praise service that was next to none. He loved his yard and garden, his flowers, and he would always say, “I am just an outside person.” He loved to play guitar and was an excellent bass guitarist, playing at church, reunions, and numerous events. He collected antiques and memorabilia. He still had in his possession his first cotton sack which he was proud to display with each year’s cotton bolls in it. His prized possession, however, was his 1964 Ford Fairlane, which he had restored many years ago, and people always knew who was in that black Ford coming down the road. He loved his country. Dale served with the U.S. Army from 8/16/67 - 8/17/70, and served 18 months fighting for his beloved U.S.A. in Viet Nam. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal, and Vietnamese Campaign Medal with Device 60. In April of this year, he was awarded a plaque and statue for his service in Vietnam by the DAV. Dale Bibbs was an amazing man and will be missed by so many, none more than his wife of the home. He was simply a man of great love with a huge heart. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at 10:00 am at the Trumann First Assembly of God with Rev. Kenneth Doke officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park, with military honors, under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors on Monday, June 2, 2014, at the church from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Pallbearers: David Carter, Laroy McCann, Joe Chipman, Lloyd Inzer, Mark Huffer, and Sonny Parrish. Honorary pallbearers: American Legion, Tyler Bailey, Delton Hillis, Toby Doke, Taylor Morgan, Derek Wilson, Tommy Coin, John Medeiros, Jason Craig, Ronnie Maxwell, Ken Maxwell, and Jarred Maxwell.
