George William Bowen

Mr. George William Bowen, 75, of Jonesboro, Arkansas departed this life peacefully at the Flo and Phil Hospice House on July 4, 2017. He was born to the late George Lee and Icy Pearl Bowen on February 16, 1942. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was adored by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all of his family. Survivors include: his wife of forty seven years Carolyn Bowen of the home; two daughters: Michelle Metcalf and husband Chris of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Marcia Freeman and husband Brad of Liberty, Texas; daughter-in-law: Claire Depelteau of Jonesboro, Arkansas; six grandchildren: Dylan Bowen of Oak Harbor, Washington; Brittany Gilbert of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Hillary Coleman of Lake City, Arkansas; Dakota Freeman of Liberty Hill, Texas; Mallory Stormer and husband Daniel of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Kyle Metcalf and Austin Metcalf of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and five great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.Mr. Bowen is preceded in death by his parents, one son Michael Bowen, and one grandchild Spencer Gilbert.George will be laid to rest next to his son at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family has requested a private disposition under the direction of Faith Funeral Service, Manila, Arkansas.
