Serita Kay Owens

Mrs. Serita Kay Owens, 64, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. Mrs. Owens was born on June 19, 1951 in Pennington Gap, Virginia to the late Curtis Jack and Gladys Cox. Mrs. Owens was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church, and loved fishing, cooking, flowers and old music. Survivors include; her husband: Earl Owens, Sr. of the home; one son: Elvis Aaron MacLeod of New Jersey; one step-son: Earl Owens, Jr. and wife Lindsay of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one step-daughter: Brandy Cofield of Richland, Washington; one grandson: Dawson Owens; two step-grandchildren: Matthew and Kalliou Hedquist; one brother: Fred Cox of Detroit, Michigan; one step-sister: Lorene Freeman of Detroit, Michigan; and a host of other family and friends. Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by; her parents; one brother: Paul Cox; two sisters: Patsy Garrett and Ella Winfield; one step-sister: Billie Trendell. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 10:00 am at Center Hill Baptist Church, 7341 CR 333, Jonesboro, Arkansas with Bro. John Travis officiating. Interment will follow at Cross Roads Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors on Monday, July 20, 2105 at the church from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Pallbearers: Rocky Partain, Jackson Rook, Shannon Greenway, Brian Easley, Roger Davis, and Kyle Owens.
