James Elmer Hall

Mr. James Elmer Hall, age 92 of Jonesboro, Arkansas, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born December 22, 1919 in Caldwell, Arkansas he had spent most of his life in Colt, Arkansas. Mr. Hall loved his country and had served in the United States Army where he received two purple hearts from World War II. He had pain daily but worked hard each day for his family. He owned his own service stations in Colt, AR and Forrest City, AR and also his own gravel trucks. Mr. Hall baptized of the Catholic faith. He is survived by his wife: Doris Hall of the home; one daughter: Janell Hall Williams and husband Lenard of the home; one daughter-in-law; Ruby Hall of Colt, Arkansas. Mr. Hall also leaves five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents William “Fate” and Mullie Bowen Hall, a son: Donald Ray Hall; three brothers: James Hall, Cleburne Hall and Cliff Hall and four sisters: Lena Hall Neisler, Dell Hall Null, Cytee Hall Baucum and Effie Hall Grant. The family has requested private services and disposition under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Arkansas. There will be a memorial service held at a later date for family and close friends.
