George Gipson

Mr. George Robert Gipson, 78, of Caraway, Arkansas passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mr. Gipson was born on July 15, 1936 in Caraway, Arkansas to the late Manuel Owen and Lura Irene Adams Gipson. Mr. Gipson was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Black Oak, Arkansas and was dedicated to serving the Lord. He loved investing time in gardening and raising chickens. He very much enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially all of his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 58 years: Cleffie Gipson of the home; two sons: Randy Gipson and wife Kathy of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; Ronald Gipson and wife Teresa of Caraway, Arkansas; one daughter: Lesia Couch and husband Fred of Caraway, Arkansas; one brother: Billy Gipson and wife Geraldine of Caraway, Arkansas; one sister: Patsy Fleetwood of Caraway, Arkansas; daughter-in-law Rhonda Gipson of Caraway, Arkansas; six grandchildren: Travis Gipson, Candace Johnson and husband Jarrett, Chelsea Richardson and husband Cody, Josh Sneed and wife Candice, Wayne Couch and wife Salena, and Matt Couch and wife Erica. Mr. Gipson also leaves 15 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 3:00 pm at the New Hope Baptist Church in Black Oak, Arkansas with Rev. Waymon Holt and Heath Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Caraway Cemetery, with Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Arkansas in charge of arrangements. The family will receive visitors Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 1:00 pm until time of service at the church. Pallbearers will be Wyeth Spikes, Wade Spikes, Billy Gathright, Peewee Gathright, John Coggin, Colton Puckett, Roland Gamble, and Kenny Weathers.
