Delbert Timms

Mr. Delbert Timms, age 73 of Lake City, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Born August 21, 1942 in Bay, Arkansas, he was the son of the late John and Myrtle Eaton Timms. Mr. Timms was a devoted Christian of the Assembly of God belief. He loved doing and taking care of others. There has never been a time that he didn’t put other’s needs in front of his own. Mr. Timms proudly served his county in the United States National Guard. He enjoyed carpentry, remodeling and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Stella Timms of the home; one son: Keith Timms and wife Stephanie of Lake City, Arkansas; one daughter: Sandy Smith and husband Bryan of Lake City, Arkansas; one brother: Billy Timms of Ventura, California; five sisters: Brenda Stotts, Patricia Winford and Wanda Beatty all of Lake City, Arkansas, Margie Carter of Marmaduke, Arkansas and Shirley Knatcal of Festus, Missouri; four grandchildren: Hunter Timms and wife Chelsea, Taylor Smith, Collin Timms and Austin Smith. Mr. Timms also leaves a host of other family and friends.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers: Euell Timms, Jackie Timms, Lonnie Timms and Nolan Timms: one sister: Marilyn Timms.Funeral services will be Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11:00am at the Windover Baptist Church with Dr. Winford Bridges and Bro. Leroy Franks officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland, Arkansas under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Arkansas. The family will receive visitors Friday, April 1, 2016 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the church. Pallbearers will be Aaron Davis, David Timms, Mike Timms, Jackie Winford, Lance Reece and Heath McClung.
