Richard "Dick" Balfour

Richard “Dick” Gerald Balfour, 78 passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Baptist East Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee. He was born January 12, 1940 in Los Angeles, California to Robert and Maxine Berry Balfour. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard, enjoyed pinstriping, customizing vehicles, drawing, drinking coffee, storytelling, and Sunday family lunches.Survivors include, Brenda Chandler; two sons: Dan Balfour (Heidi); Donnie Balfour; two daughters: Karla Stark (Wade); Angelia Austin ( Kevin); Grandchildren: Aubrey and Ashley Beard of Los Angeles, California, Arrington and Lexi Balfour of Anthem, Arizona; Joseph and Ryan Stark of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Chandler Austin (Heaven), Chance Austin of Black Oak, Arkansas; one niece: Roxanne McDaris of Las Vegas, Nevada; two nephews: Brian McDaris of Orange County, California, Russell Heistuman of Couer D’Alene, Idaho.Preceded in death by; his father: Robert Balfour; parents: Maxine and Saint St. Germain; wife: Sherry Neubauer; wife: Darnelle Balfour; two sisters: Chris McDaris and Judy Balfour; and one grandson: Chandler Austin.A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at The Rock of NEA, 4318 E Johnson Ave., Jonesboro, Arkansas with Pastor Jeff Watson officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until service time.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 in memory of his grandson, Chandler Austin.
