David Wayne Parker

Mr. David Wayne Parker, age 61 of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away February 2, 2015 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born March 16, 1953 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Marshall Daniel and Dorothy Connor Parker. Mr. Parker enjoyed fishing, working on old trucks, watching old westerns and Gold Rush and spending time with his friends at the Waffle House. He is survived by two daughters: Jennifer Vanderver and Stephanie Roberts; three brothers: William W.C. “Dub” Parker of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Charles Parker of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Jimmy Parker of Smithfield, North Carolina; seven sisters: Carol Walker of Bay, Arkansas, Thelma Porter of Smithville, Arkansas, Mary Bagwell of Smithville, Arkansas, Barbara Hendrix of Ashflat, Arkansas, Sharon Vernor of Harrisburg, Arkansas, Debbie Brooks of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Cathy Ezell of Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mr. Parker also leaves four grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Parker was preceded in death by two sister: Doris Benton and Lavern Melton and two brother: Daniel Parker and Gerald Parker. The family has requested private service and disposition under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society

    I knew David from the Waffle House he was my favorite customer he was just a wonderful man and person and he will be truly missed thank you for sharing him with us....

    David was one of my regulars at the Waffle House. He was a great guy. At one point I didn't have enough money to buy a coat and he drove to Walmart and bought me one. I'll never forget him. Thanks David!
