Kenneth Smith

Mr. Kenneth (Boo) Eugene Smith, 72, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at NEA Baptist Hospital. Mr. Smith was born on December 16, 1941 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to the late Fred and Josephine Smith. Mr. Smith was a retired truck driver for Superior Forwarding Company and Central Transport for 30 years. He was a member of Shepherds Heart Church, a family man, and an avid sports fan. His passion was his grandchildren and golf. His grandchildren played soccer, football, softball, golf, and participated in cheerleading and he never missed a game or cheering competition regardless of rain, sleet, cold or heat. Survivors include; his wife of 50 years: Mary Smith of the home; one daughter; Misti Vickery and husband Ed of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one son: Shawn Smith and wife Angie of Jonesboro, Arkansas; five grandchildren: Jacob Vickery, Seth Vickery, Sarah Vickery, Channing Smith, and Sheridan Smith all of Jonesboro, Arkansas; seven brothers and sisters: Bob Smith of Dupo, Illinois, Nancy Lee of Dupo, Illinois, Betty Mustain of St. Joseph, Minnesota, Helen Levin of Red Bluff, California, Dorothy Massanelli and husband Bob of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Johnny Wayne Smith of Harrisburg, Arkansas; and Eugene Smith of Phoenix, Arizona; and a host of other family and friends. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Shepherd’s Heart Church with Bro. James Strait officiating. Interment will follow at Mr. Zion Cemetery, Walcott, Arkansas under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Pallbearers: Jeff Moses, Donnie Tennison, Blake Tennison, Brian Swain, Ralph Massanelli, Adams Williamson, Jeff Simmons, Rick McKenzie and Wayne Hale. Honorary pallbearers: Loyd Vickery, Carl Horne, Nick Nichols, Ray Maynard and Marty Crain. In lieu of flowers the family suggest lasting memorial be made to Shepherd’s Heart Church, 3226 Highway 351 N., Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401.
