Danny Franklin Akers

Danny Franklin Akers, 76 passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 at NEA Baptist Hospital, Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born March 23, 1942 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to the late Curtis Buell and Ruby Louy Akers. He enjoyed his sunsets and God’s beauty, his grandchildren, and taking care of his yard.Survivors include; his wife of thirty five years: Martha Akers; one Son: Danny Shane Akers(Claudia) of Harrisburg, Arkansas; one daughter: Tanya Tacker (Curtis) of Brookland, Arkansas; one sister: Linda Lou Crowe of North Carolina; eight grandchildren: Robby Tacker, Hannah Tacker, Logan Akers, Phaedra Tribble, Ryan Akers, Faith Hartsfield, Shania Hartsfield, and Monica Hartsfield; three great grandchildren: Payton Rollins, Lilly Rollins, and Gunner Rollins, and a host of other family and friends.Funeral service will be Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Refuge Baptist Church, Lake City, Arkansas with Bro. Fred Nance officiating under the direction of Faith Funeral Service, Manila, Arkansas. The family will receive visitors at the church at 12:00 p.m. until service time.

    Danny and I were friends for well over 50 years. An excellent drummer, he played drums in the band we formed in the late 1960's. If Danny was your friend, he he was a real and true friend; always there when you were down or needed help, and you didn't have to ask for it. I will always remember and cherish the times we had together, and I believe that I am a better person today because of my association with Danny. He was a living lesson in caring and kindness.I will miss him.

    Danny was a very good friend and brother of ours for near 40 years. We loved him and he loved us. We always shared a laugh or two during our conversations. We will miss those conversations and laughter that we shared. He was thoughtful and kind. Keeping in touch with widows, making sure they knew he was there for them. looking forward to sharing some laughs again in the future. We love you!
