Jean Stegall
September 5, 1942 - May 13, 2024

Jean Stegall, 81 of Blytheville, Arkansas passed away on May 13, 2024 at St Francis Assisted Living in Kennett, Missouri. She was born on September 5, 1942 in Tomato, Arkansas to Jess and Mildred (Ross) Walker. She retired from Special School District in Pemiscot County in 2020. Gardening was one of her favorite things to do. She loved “playing in the dirt” and had one of the best looking yards around with beautiful flowerbeds and trees everywhere. Jean is survived by her children: Jerry Lynn Battles (Ann) of Palmetto, Florida, Pam Butler (Steve) of Steele, Missouri and Greg Battles (Beverly) of Steele, Missouri, her grandchildren: Jason Battles (Katee) of Palmetto, Florida, Kaitlyn Bohorquez (Esteban) of Gibsonton, Florida, Jeri Kay Battles of Steele, Missouri and Tyler Battles of Steele, Missouri and five great granddaughters: Makena Battles, Bellamy Battles, Leilani Bohorquez, Sadie Battles and Isabela Bohorquez. She is also survived by one sister: Brenda Clark of Mountain Grove, Missouri and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jess and Mildred Walker, two husbands: Jerry Lynn Battles and Harvey Stegall, a granddaughter: Jeri Ann Battles and her siblings: Jesse Walker, Shirley Lucas, James “Bud” Walker and Barbara Whitaker. Funeral Services will be at the Church of Christ in Steele, Missouri on May 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with John Mundy officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens in Caruthersville, Missouri under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
