C.E. Counce, 78, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away at his home on December 18, 2023. He was born on March 1, 1945 in Wynne, Arkansas to Cecil C. Counce and Virginia Gartman. He was of the Baptist Faith and attended the Cathedral Baptist Church. C.E. enjoyed watching Steeler’s football, hunting with family, playing pool, riding motorcycles, singing all his favorite songs, and enjoying time with his family and friends. Survivors include; loving wife: Cheryl J. Counce of the home; two sons: Gene Counce (Kelley) of Memphis, Tennessee and Joe Frans (Robin) of Peoria, Illinois; one daughter: Michele Frans of Washington, Illinois; two brothers: Joe Counce (Linda) of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Gary Gartman (Vicki) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two sisters: Carolyn Dorton of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Brenda Hargrove (Dennis) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of other family and friends. He is preceded in death by; his father: Cecil C. Counce; mother and stepfather: Virginia and Clause Gartman; grandmother: Dora Counce; one brother: Jimmy Dale Gartman; and on sister: Rayetta Hardin. The family would like to invite everyone to join them at a celebration of life on January 13, 2023 at the Union Grove Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Food Bank.
