Patricia Cudahy

Written by her son, Tony Trumbull:With great sorrow I must announce that Patricia Cudahy passed away Wednesday after a long illness. Her husband Bernard (Bernie) was with her when she peacefully slipped away. You may have known her as Patricia Traver, Patricia Trumbull, Mom, Grandma or “Ratty Patty”. She was born, married, and started her family in Middletown, NY. She earned a BA in nursing and worked in health care during her entire professional career. She was the head of nursing at Midland Hospital, ran several nursing facilities, and even chaired the Council for Independent Living for the state of Mi. She attended the signing of the Disabled Americans Bill by special invitation from President Bush. We lived on a homestead farm in Midland, Mi. where she loved cross country skiing, hunting, fishing, camping, ceramics, gardening, and taking care of her goats. She also loved the Midland Nature Center and helped build the log cabin homestead exhibit that stands there now. She had a beautiful voice and sang in choirs in Midland, Lansing, and Cherokee Village. My sister, Linda, and I once saved our allowance for months and bought her a guitar which she became quite gifted with. THE DEER, nuff said! When I see depictions of life after death I see wings and harps and clouds. I think the picture below better describes where she’s at and what she’s doing now. She was a good mother, a great friend and I miss her terribly.

I just seen the obituary today. Please give our love to Pats family. I remember her and Bernie first came to Perry Church of the Nazarene. They were very special people. They sang in the choir.Pat would sing solos up front too. She had a beautiful voice. It was good to know her.May your family be blessed.

Pat and I were good friends a few years before she married Bernie and moved from Midland. I will always remember her spunkyness and sheer determination. She was most special in my life.
