Betty Sue Haggard
December 1, 1947 - November 6, 2023

Our dear mother, Betty Sue Haggard, sadly passed away on November 6, 2023 at the age of 75. She was a kind and thoughtful woman who lit up every room she entered. She was always the funny one in the crowd and left people smiling everywhere she went. Betty was born; Betty Sue Smith on December 1, 1947 in Knobel, Arkansas to Frank and Lucy (Bowers) Smith. She married Gary Wayne Haggard on April 21, 1966 in Rockford, Illinois. They made their home in Corning, Arkansas in 1973. Betty spent her life correcting others mistakes for various companies, the last being the Clay County Courier. She spent her years of retirement traveling with her husband and enjoying her children and grandchildren. Betty was an avid gardener, a painter, a piano player at church, a worship leader, a baker of chocolate rolls and a fryer of chicken. She is survived by; her husband: Gary Haggard of the home; one son: Michael Haggard (Cary) of Success, Arkansas; two daughters: Michelle Haggard of Corning, Arkansas and Jamie LaRue (Jim) of Corning, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by; her parents; and her granddaughter: Angel. Pallbearers: Her beloved grandsons. Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Cantwell Cemetery in Corning, Arkansas at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Carmon McMasters officiating under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
