Michael Duayne York

Michael Duayne York, 70, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away on June 30, 2023 at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on August 27, 1952 in England to Gordon “Duke” and Wanda Bollinger York. A Pepaw that loved to brag on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren they were his pride and joys. He loved to laugh but loved making others laugh more. He had a servant’s heart, was a car enthusiast, good cook, especially barbecuing, loved to play pool, and enjoyed his aquariums with his fish. Survivors include; his wife: Jacqulyn S. Elder York of the home; two sons: Michael Sean York (Radeena) of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Travis Gowen (Amanda) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; one daughter: Sierra Elliott (Brad) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; two brothers: Lee York of Mt. Shasta, California and Larry York (Phyllis) of Hazzard, Kentucky; one sister: Betty Jackson of Springfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Ian Urich (raised by his Pepaw), Ireland, Ashtyn, Rowan, Ealie, Connor, Zayne, and Tatum; five great-grandchildren: Damon, Scarlett, Rowan, Gussie, and Euri; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by; his parents: Gordon “Duke” and Wanda Bollinger York; two brothers: Dennis and Brian York; and two sisters: Vicki York Hopkins and Belinda York Welch. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Fellowship General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
