Elwanda Weems
November 18, 1940 - February 22, 2023

Elwanda Weems, a former business owner and long-time resident of Marion, Arkansas passed away on February 22, 2023 at the age of 82. Weems was born in Trumann in 1940. She was a life-long resident of Arkansas and for many years owned and managed a women’s clothing store in West Memphis. She was fiercely independent, possessed a “do it yourself” personality, and her biggest enjoyment in life was working in the yard with her plants and flowers. She loved her grandchildren and also spending time with her friends. Weems is survived by; one daughter: Melinda (Morse) of Lake Lure, N.C.; one son Joel of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; son-in-law: Todd Morse; daughter-in-law: Dabney Weems; grandchildren: Tristan Morse, Ethan Morse and Layton Weems; and a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by; her husband: Bill Weems; parents: Lois and Selmer England; and siblings: Macon England, Cleo England, Marvin England, Cletis England and Merlene England. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday February 23, 2023 at the Caraway Cemetery in Caraway, Arkansas under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be made in Weems’ memory to the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House of Jonesboro.
