Thelma Laverne Woods

Thelma Laverne Woods, 84 of Forrest City, Arkansas passed away on June 6, 2021 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born on December 4, 1936 in Newport, Arkansas to Floyd and Oma Bowman. She was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed reading her Bible, going to church, and being involved with church activities. She was very family oriented and enjoyed going to family reunions. She also enjoyed gardening and watching All My Children on TV. She never met a stranger and made friends with many. She loved people. Survivors include; two daughters: Susan Kelley and Karen Woods both of Forrest City, Arkansas; one grandchild: Jeremy Summers(Krystal); two great-grandchildren: Kaitlann and Hailey Summers; one great-great-grandchild: Rylee Summers; an aunt to many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by; her husband: Earl Woods; her parents: Floyd and Oma Bowman; one son: Charles Woods; three brothers: Ardell, William, and Fred Bowman; and two sisters; Zelma Smith and Joyce Lewis Franklin. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery with Rev. J. E. Hughes officiating under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
