Marvin Eugene “Gene” Pearson March 17, 1943 – Jan 13, 2021 Marvin Eugene “Gene” Pearson, 77 of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, Jan 13th at The Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born March 17th, 1943 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Marvin and Myrtle Pearson. Gene was a member of Center Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Friends will recall Gene’s smile, his playful humor, and his love for flowers and lawn work. Most people who knew him would smile and say that he “was a mess”. Gene is survived by: his wife of 15 years, Janith Pearson; 1 brother Rollin Pearson of Broken Arrow, OK; 5 Children: Kelly Reeves of Greenwood, AR; Gina Atkinson of Johnson, AR; Bobbie Villines of Roland, OK; David Pearson of Seattle, WA; and Scott Pearson of Greenwood, AR; 2 Step-Children: John Travis of Jonesboro, AR; and Cristy Travis of Lee’s Summit, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents and 9 siblings: Harmon Pearson, Odel Pearson, Harland Pearson, Buddy Pearson, Jimmy Williams, Molly Williams, Carri Pearson, and Geneva Pearson. Gene will be cremated, and his remains will join his family in Oklahoma. A memorial service is pending due to COVID concern.
