Gregory Alan Stigall
September 23, 1960 - August 29, 2017

Mr. Gregory Alan Stigall, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017. The man, the myth, the legend passed away at the age of 56. Mr. Stigall was born on September 23, 1960, at Blytheville Air Force Base, Arkansas, son of Huey and Wanda Stigall. Mr. Stigall was also brother to Lester and Danita, husband to the late Babbi Len, father to Gregory Travis, Cassandra Kay, Garrett Alan, and Katherine Elizabeth, father-in-law to Derrick Cowart and Candace Stigall, and “G-Pa” to Destinee, Annelise, Aleena, and Draven. No man was more compassionate and selfless. He had the ability to become the person everyone needed him to be. Mr. Stigall always made time for his family. There was never a problem too big for him to provide the necessary calming words and guidance to find a solution. He always seemed to have the right answer. Mr. Stigall’s hobbies included spending time with family, kayaking, fishing, and hiking. Mr. Stigall honorably served his country in the United States Army, retiring in March 2002. Mr. Stigall demonstrated the leadership qualities and Army values throughout his career. His sense of duty to his nation is unparalleled. Mr. Stigall had many accomplishments while in the military, most notably his recognition as one on the Army’s top Drill Sergeants and graduating from SAPPER school. He also received numerous accommodations and medals. After the military, Mr. Stigall was employed with the Army Corps of Engineers. He continued to put others before himself. Mr. Stigall volunteered to deploy and support the Corps mission to assist Hurricane Katrina victims and the state of Louisiana. Mr. Stigall would later deploy to Afghanistan on three separate tours. While in Afghanistan, Mr. Stigall earned the reputation of being one of the most honest and hardworking people throughout the Department of Defense. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Funeral Service, Manila, Arkansas.
