Shirlee A. Hatter
September 20, 1949 - April 1, 2020

Shirlee A. Hatter of Caruthersville, Missouri died with her son Chris by her side at Landmark Hospital in Cape Giradeau on April 1, 2020 after a short battle with spinal cancer. She was 70 years young. Shirlee was born in Rockford, Illinois and came to the Caruthersville area in mid 2015 from Mascoutah, Illinois where she was a homemaker for 18 years to her late husband Fred Hatter. She was a member/elder of Jesus Name Tabernacle in Caruthersville. Shirlee had a passion for attending church on a regular basis. She also enjoyed walking her dog, Missie, where she touched the lives of many people during her walks. In the short time she lived in Caruthersville, she made several friends and they were very dear to her heart. Anyone that entered her home, they were treated like family and were welcome with open arms. She often spoke highly of her church family and never stopped praying for everyone. She had an infectious laugh, especially when she watched her favorite show “The Golden Girls”. There was never a dull moment being around her. She leaves her son, Chris Leber and daughter in law Tina of Caruthersville, Missouri; two daughters Jennifer and Stephanie Leber of Peoria, Illinois; childhood friend Pam DuCharme of Rockford, Illinois; close friends Glenda Debourge and JR Hoffman of Swansea, Illinois. Also, she leaves behind countless close friends such as- Jan Cumpton, Lena Holloway & her family, Cindy & Edward Tinman, The Riney Family, Cody & Stacey Quinn, Chris Shelton, Darlene Petty, Jessie & Sandy Quick, James & Rosemary Barnett, Danny Barnett, Charles Barnett, Teresa Green, James & Ruby Evans and many more than that are listed here. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren- Jayden, Jared & Jason (from daughter Jennifer), Rydia, Tristian & JaQuel (from daughter Stephanie) and Christina & Kristin (from her daughter in law Tina). Also 2 great grandchildren- Jonathan (from granddaughter Christina) and Vincent (from granddaughter Kristin).
