Janice Marie Mitchell born November 12, 1951 in Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away in Jonesboro, Arkansas December 24, 2019. Ms. Mitchell lived in Harrisburg, Arkansas with her husband, Samuel B. Mitchell, Jr. of forty years. She retired as a Nurse Tech and Stock Clerk at St. Bernard’s in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by; her parents: Thomas and Barbra Sorg; husband: Samuel B. Mitchell, JR., sister: Norma Sue Grisham; daughter: Michelle Charmain Mitchell; and grandson: Jeffrey Alan Mitchell. Ms. Mitchel is survived by sons: Thomas (Tenita) Mitchell, James (Janae) Woods, five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Special mention: Leahann Emmons, Jennifer Conway, and Maggie Johnson; and a host of devoted family; in-laws; and friends. They family would like to extend and express thanks to all who have shown love and kindness during this time of transition. May God bless and keep you. Graveside service will be Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Wilson Cemetery, Old Military Lane, Harrisburg, Arkansas with Pastor Larry Bailey of Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas officiating under the direction of Faith Funeral Service, Manila, Arkansas. The family will receive visitors Friday, December 27, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Faith Funeral Service Chapel, Manila, Arkansas. Pallbearers: Thomas Mitchell, James Woods, Dakota Woods, Benson Anderson, Bruce Williams, and Gaylen Pretty. Honorary Pallbearers upon request.
