Robert Rel Bishop
July 29, 1931 - June 5, 2019

Robert Rel Bishop, 87, of Jonesboro, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on June 5, 2019. He was born on July 29, 1931 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Joseph A. and Myrtle Lee (Houston) Bishop. He was a member of the Highland Drive Baptist Church in Jonesboro, which he loved attending when he was able. He enjoyed square dancing and singing with a gospel quartet when he was younger. Robert was a very generous man and devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include; one daughter: Patti Hartline (George) of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; one son: Tony Bishop (Julie); four grandchildren: Shelby Peters (Nick), James Wainscott (Eliza), Thomas Bishop, Sydney Bishop; four great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be held on June 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Straw Floor Cemetery in Jonesboro, Arkansas with Bro. John Brown officiating, under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Arkansas.

    I am so sorry to hear we lost dear Bobby. I saw him a few months ago at McDonalds and he gave me his calling card in case I needed prayer or help! a group of us ladies that exercise at St. Bernards wellness Center on Washington, always looked forward to saying hello to Bobby and asking him what kind of cake he had brought on Friday. I also went through school with him, graduating in 1949. He was a dear man.
