Glenda Gale McGaha
June 13, 1947 - April 5, 2019

With heavy hearts we announce the passing away of Glenda Gale McGaha our loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend; to all whose lives she touched. June 13,1947 - April 5, 2019 She leaves behind her beloved husband of 51 years Robert L McGaha III of Jonesboro, her children Tammie L. Richardson (David) of Jonesboro, Wendy (Mike) Healey of Cookeville Tennessee, Rusty (Missy) McGaha of Jonesboro, Micheal (Tracy) McGaha Jonesboro and Joshua (Katie) McGaha Jonesboro. Eleven grand-children Tiffani, Alex, Beau, Layne, Jett, Cody, Tyler, Weston, Addison, Jace and Caleb. Great-Grandchildren Royce and Boston. Her brothers Larry (Jocelyne) Green of Mt. Home & Jackie (Diane) Green of Trumann Ar. a sister Judy (Glenn) Owen of Mt. Home and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Freeman and Jacquelene Green. Sister Teena Halter, sister-in-law Linda Green and Grand-daughter Brittney Richardson. Glenda loved Jehovah first and foremost and imitated him best while caring for her children and others listening to each persons concerns and she looked for ways to support where she could. She especially treasured her role as Nana. Present for the birth of her first granddaughter she ushered her in true cheerleading style, literally jumping for joy, clearing the floor a good 2 feet yelling ‘come on !’ This was just practice for one of her most treasured roles...supporter, champion, and friend to all her grands. Quick to listen, not just to words but to the heart. Mother realized each and every one of her five children had different strengths and weaknesses and mom was always there ready to teach a lesson, give a needed hug or pass on a nugget of wisdom in a way to reach the varied personalities. She refused to compare us to one another and encouraged us to be the very best we could be. Her years on this earth were filled with love and compassion, her favorite shirt to wear on Friday was ‘Don’t worry be happy’, it was also a mantra she tried to live. This was made possible by her faith and demonstrated in the way she handled life as it came at her. Her favorite scripture was Isaiah 41:10 “Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you, I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness.” Her confidence in this scripture is what she tried to share with all those she came in contact with. She was quick to come to the aid of others and look for ways to care for those in need. Doing so quietly one on one not advertising to others. She spent many days sitting with those who were sick and infirm. Instead of feeling ‘entitled’ to the same comfort and care, she humbly looked for ways to make it easier for her family and friends. Glenda looked forward to the coming resurrection with only one request... that she see you there! Please join us in a celebration of Glenda’s good name, 3:00 p.m. on Saturday April 13,2019 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Glenda always had a smile & encouraging word. Always a joy to talk with. Her love for her family was always evident, as she shared many stories about their adventures in life. I was honored to help her with her insurance and share her friendship! With very sincere sympathy, Pamela Hammond Houston
