Roy Taylor Carmer, Jr.

Roy Taylor Carmer, Jr., 69 of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on May 17, 1948 in Columbus, Indiana to Roy and Masil Gallion Carmer, Sr. He was a member of the Lighthouse Church in Paragould, Arkansas, enjoyed playing softball, and he owned his restaurant the Catfish Island for 15 years.Survivors include; his wife: Debra Carmer of the home; eight sons: Phillip Carmer and wife Sherry of Bay, Arkansas; Bryan Carmer of Paragould; Brandon Carmer and wife Violet of Paragould; Landon Tyler Carmer and wife Vanessa of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Lance Taylor Carmer and fiancé Kenzie of Paragould, Arkansas; Loren Trace Carmer of Paragould, Arkansas; Luke Tanner Carmer of Paragould, Arkansas; and Leyton Trey Carmer of Paragould, Arkansas; one daughter: Athea Roark of Paragould, Arkansas; eight grandchildren: Zachary Carmer, Mariah Carmer, Jordan Carmer, Hannah Carmer, Logan Hisaw, Bethany Hisaw, Brooklyn Carmer, and Dane Carmer; two brothers: Dennis Carmer of Alabama, and Greg Carmer of Thailand; three sisters: Barbara Penrose of Edinburgh, Indiana; Linda Carmer of Columbus, Indiana; and Cindy Moss of French Lick, Indiana; and a host of other family and friends.Preceded in death by his parents, one son Michael Todd Carmer, and one granddaughter Stephanie Paige Carmer.Pallbearers: Bob Carroll, Brad Ivy, Devon Thrasher, Robert Wagner, Morgan Adams, and Eric White.Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Christian Life Center, Brookland, Arkansas with Rev. Jason Adams, Rev. Scott Trayler, and Rev. Harold Anderson officiating under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors at the Christian Life Center from 12:00 pm until the start of the service. Interment will follow at the Pine Log Cemetery, Brookland, Arkansas.
