Gene Rubin Windham, Sr.

Mr. Gene Rubin Windham, Sr., 74, a lifelong resident of Wardell, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Mr. Windham was born on May 29, 1941 in Morrilton, Arkansas to the late W. R. and Deva Hale Windham. Mr. Windham was a member of the Wardell Baptist Church, Wardell Fire Department, North Pemiscot School Board for six years, and Wardell City Councils for twenty-one years. He enjoyed farming, auto racing and hunting. Survivors include; his wife: Linda Windham of the home; one son: Little Gene Windham and wife Sarah of Wardell, Missouri; four daughters: Tina Clark and husband Gary of Wardell, Missouri; Connie Hastings and husband Wallace of Kewanee, Missouri, Cindy Hampton of Wardell, Missouri, and Regena Leonard and husband Charles of Portageville, Missouri; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Mr. Windham was preceded in death by; his parents; one sister: Jeanette Crowder. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at Wardell Baptist Church, Wardell, Missouri with Bro. Griff Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 5:00-8:00 pm. Pallbearers: Heath Mitchell, Kelly Mitchell, Mike Mitchell, Billy Woodall, Jr., Charles Leonard, and Jamie Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers: Paul Wayne Maclin, Hoss Watkins, Norris Watkins, Josh Maclin, Lee Edward Watkins, and the Wardell Class of 1960.
