Roger Starnes

Mr. Roger D. Starnes, 65 of Jonesboro, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord on August 30, 2016 at Memphis, Tennessee. Born April 7, 1951 in Blytheville, Arkansas, he was the son of Alvin and Viola Moody Starnes. Roger was an auto body repair and painter by trade and a supervisor at Townsends in Batesville. He was a great musician and writer and was of the Pentecostal faith. Left to celebrate his life is his wife of 42 years: Nina Starnes of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three daughters: Joleena Clouse and husband John of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Dezarae Starnes of The Netherlands and Sharona Nickerson and husband Phillip of Jonesboro, Arkansas; seven grandchildren: Chasyl Wilson, Hunter Starnes, Aliyah Green, Taelia-Desha Pierce, Aiden Nickerson all of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Benjamin Elemans and Sofia Elemans from the Netherlands; three great-grandchildren: Marley Wilson, Ollister Starnes and Kai Starnes all of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two brothers: Randy and Bryan Starnes both of Mountain View, Arkansas. Mr. Starnes also leaves several sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Elvis Starnes, Danny Starnes; one sister: Joy Starnes; a nephew: Shannon Starnes; his grandparents; C.A. and Annie Moody and Clarence and Erma Starnes. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Arkansas is in charge of arrangements.
