Larry Perrin, Sr.

Larry Neill Perrin, Sr., 78, of Blytheville, Arkansas passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mr. Perrin was born January 26, 1937 to Hulett and Lorene Perrin in Newport, Arkansas. He was a member of Northside Church of Christ for more than 35 years and served as a Deacon. He was a member of the Blytheville Lions Club and State of Arkansas Burial Board. Larry grew up in Jonesboro, Arkansas and attended Annie camp Junior High as well as Jonesboro High school in the 1950’s where he was very active in football and basketball. He later graduated from West Memphis High School in 1955 where he also was active in all things sports. He attended Memphis State University, Arkansas State University and Los Angeles City College before becoming a proud member of the U. S. Air Force stationed at Pease AFB, New Hampshire and Missile Early Warning Site in Thule, Greenland. After over 15 years in retail sales management, Larry was employed by Memorial Insurance Company of America in sales and management and after 30 years of service retired. Larry loved sports. He was a frequent patron of Blytheville and Gosnell sporting events from the 1970’s through the 2000’s often to the frustration of the officials. But he loved watching his son and grandsons no matter if it was from the stands or from outside the fence. As a reluctant patron of the arts, he was often seen in Jonesboro at band concerts, halftime band shows, dance programs and other activities that he enjoyed with his granddaughters. His grandchildren were the lights of his life. Survivors include; his wife of 58 years: Barbara Graves Perrin of the home; one son: Larry Perrin, Jr. and wife Michelle of Blytheville, Arkansas; one daughter: Cindy Perrin Cravens of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two grandsons: James Edwards of Blytheville, Arkansas and fiancé Ariel Bradley of Texarkana, Arkansas and Zach Perrin of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; two granddaughters: Katey Cravens of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Kelsey Brock and husband Grant of Lowell, Arkansas; one brother: Bowman Perrin and wife Bonnie of Blue Springs, Missouri; one sister: Martha Word of Little Rock, Arkansas; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews. Mr. Perrin was preceded in death by; his parents: Hulett and Lorene Perrin; two sisters: Patty Trokel and Betty Perrin. All final arrangements have been made by Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Arkansas, although at Larry’s request, there will be no formal services. Lasting memorial gifts can be made to two of his favorite charities, Paragould Children’s Home and the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
