Dorotha Keating

Mrs. Dorotha J.”Dot” Keating, age 78 of Hornersville, Missouri, passed away August 18, 2015 at the NEA Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Born August 5, 1937 in Hornersville, Missouri, to the late George and Georgia Fleeman Jaco and had been a lifetime area resident. Mrs. Keating was a 1955 graduate of Hornersville High School where she was active in sports and was the captain of her basketball team and a member of the First Baptist Church in Hornersville. In addition to helping her husband of 52 years operate the family farm, she was a former part-time school teacher and a homemaker. She also enjoyed sewing and baking for others, was an avid antique collector, spending time with her grandchildren and reading. She is survived by two sons: Stephan Keating and wife Cynthia of Steele, Missouri; James Wesley “Rusty” and wife Andrea of Senath, Missouri; one daughter: Mary Frances “Binky” Capper and husband Bruce of Dallas, Texas; three grandsons: Stephan “Corky” Keating, II and wife Lauren of Brunswick, Georgia; Jarrad Keating and wife Casey of Hornersville, Missouri and Drake Keating of Senath, Missouri; one granddaughter: Brittney Keating of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two great-grandchildren: John Wesley Keating of Hornersville, Missouri and Arabella Diann Bunch of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two sisters: Shirley Branum and husband Ron of Arbyrd, Missouri and Rebecca Sessums and husband Ben of Cardwell, Missouri; one very special lifelong friend: Frances Brown of Fredrick Town, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Bill Keating and two brothers: George Wiley Jaco and Floyd Jaco. Funeral services will be Friday, August 21, 2015 at 2:30pm at the First Baptist Church in Hornersville, Missouri with Rev. Doug Clinton officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunklin County Memorial Gardens in Kennett, Missouri with Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Arkansas in charge of arrangements. The family will receive visitors from 1:00pm until time of service at the church. Pallbearers: Sean Droke, Eddie Lomax, Skylar Droke, Winfred Wilkins, Don Jones, and Nogi McDaniel. Honorary pallbearers: Danny Poole, Terry Keating, Larry Keating, Gary Stubblefield, and Steve Droke. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the charity of your choice.
