Adelaide Maddox
November 7, 1923 - March 9, 2023

Edna Adelaide Maddox, 99, of Black Rock, AR passed away on March 9, 2023, at Lawrence Hall Health and Rehabilitation in Walnut Ridge, AR. She was born on November 7, 1923, in Ola, AR, a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, loved listening to the Gaither Vocal Band, and avidly rooted for the St. Louis Cardinals. Adelaide owned and operated “Adelaide’s Beauty Shop” in Black Rock, AR, serving women in surrounding communities for decades. She inspired the women in her life to be strong, and was known to be kind, vivacious, and cheerful. Adelaide was passionate about her family, never missing a chance to cook up homemade biscuits and chocolate gravy in her century old iron skillet. Survivors include; one daughter: Martha A. Morgan of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three grandchildren: Angie Barnett of Baltimore, Maryland, C.D. Morgan II (Brenda) of Leesville, Louisiana, and Sean A. Morgan of Maryville, Tennessee; two great grandchildren: Stephanie Bond (Devin Benton) of Dallas, Texas and Chandler D. Morgan (Brooklin) of Columbus, Georgia; and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by; her father: Oscar Sidney Kee; her mother: Myrtle Maddox; two husbands: Louis Mobley and John Maddox; one daughter; Norma Taylor; one son-in-law: James Taylor; and two brothers: Freeman Kee and Hub Kee. Graveside services will be held on March 13, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden Point Cemetery in Etowah, Arkansas with Bro. Jason Sutfin officiating under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
