Helen G. Wood-Stein
December 26, 1938 - December 29, 2022

Mrs. Helen G. Wood-Stein, 84, of Jonesboro, Arkansas finished her journey through this temporary home and entered the gates of Heaven on December 29, 2022, after a very brief acute illness. Helen was born on December 26, 1938 to John H. and Gladys O. Vaughn-Wood in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by; her parents; her husband: James Ray; and her precious companion and friend: Leon Brownderville. She is survived by; two daughters: Debra Stein-Simmons of Marion, Arkansas and Laura Stein-Fish (Zach) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one sister: Virginia Felix of Fairview Heights, Illinois; six grandchildren: Brandon Johnson (Brittany) of Georgetown, Texas, Alex Simmons (Chelsea) of Long Beach, California; Steven Taylor of Memphis, Tennessee, Caitlyn Rawls of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Christian Fish of Holly Springs, Mississippi, and Colton Fish of Jonesboro, Arkansas; six great grandchildren: Jonathon Johnson of Plano, Texas, Riou and River Johnson of Georgetown, Texas, Arianna, Kael, and Autumn Rawls of Jonesboro, Arkansas; special friends who did so much for her Michael and Kym Collier; her “niece-in-love” Pamela Brownderville-Averill; and a host of other family and friends. The family also wishes to give thanks to Dr. Stephen O. Woodruff and to Ashley House, APRN for the loving care they have provided for Helen over many years. The staff at NEA Baptist Emergency Room, Dr. Ryan Hamlin, and all of the staff on 5 West as well as Chaplin Services for the excellent, kind, and compassionate care provided from Mrs. Stein and family also over the last precious day of her life. The family has requested burial services to be private under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
