Jerry Fendley

Jerry Fendley, 77, of Cherry Valley, Arkansas, passed from this life on Monday, September 13, 2021, at his home. He was born in Bay Village, Arkansas on May 4, 1944, to Audie and Doris (Partain) Fendley. Jerry had the honor of graduating from Cherry Valley High School in 1962. He was a devoted member of Cherry Valley Baptist Church. In his younger years, he was an avid bird hunter; he enjoyed fishing, car racing, and basketball. He also took great pride in coaching his son’s little league baseball team. Throughout his lifetime, he was an excellent wood worker and mechanic; however, some of his greatest loves were flea marketing and traveling with his wife, Gwen. He was also passionate about playing softball and watching his granddaughters play. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by; one brother: Griffin Elzey; and his stepdaughter: Billie Jo Russell. Survivors include; his loving wife: Gwen Fendley of the home; one son: Gary Fendley of Cherry Valley, Arkansas; one daughter: Gina Lee (Larry) of Cherry Valley, Arkansas; one stepson: Robert Sullivan of Wynne, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; Mitchell Fendley, Caryn McClanahan (Katlyn), Kara Lee, Kourtney Lee all of Cherry Valley, Arkansas: Teagan Russell, Micah Russell, and Taylor Grace Harper (Seth) all of Wynne, Arkansas, Robyn Sullivan of Marshall, Arkansas: and Daniel Sullivan of Marion, Arkansas; and four great-grandchildren: Parker McClanahan, Josie McClanahan, Cason King, and Jack Harper. Pallbearers: Chance Watson, Jerry Buchanan, Michael Partain, Greg Partain, Larry Thomas, and Bryan Evans. Honorary Pallbearers: Lanny Karnes, Don Barnes, Jim Mills, Dub Mills, and Darrell Mills. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cherry Valley Baptist Church with Bro. David Birkhead and Richard Banton officiating. Burial will follow at Tyre Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to the American Cancer Society.
