Tommye Sue Powers

Tommye Sue Powers 83, of Bay, Arkansas passed away at Craighead County Nursing Home on August 30, 2021. She was born on August 2, 1938 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Wayne and Faye Harris Sanders. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bay, Arkansas. She was an avid tennis and golf player. She loved playing bingo, working word searches, and enjoyed coloring. Loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She attended college late in life where she acquired a certification for surgical technician. She was employed by Methodist Hospital in Memphis from which she retired. Survivors include; two daughters: Dana Fletcher (Chuck) of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Tonja Martin of Jonesboro Arkansas; three sisters: Linda Clark of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Terrie Thompson of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Maxanne Durkee (Jay) of La Cresta, California; five grandchildren: Devin Montgomery (Brad), Joshua Ferguson (Amber), Amber Thompson (Jeffery), Corey Martin (Brittney) , and Zachery Martin; ten great-grandchildren: Laynee Montgomery, Addison Montgomery, Jett Ferguson, Lynley Ferguson, Tripp Johnson, Tawnee Thompson, Aria Thompson, Asher Thompson, Noah Martin, Caroline Martin; and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by; her parents: Wayne and Faye Sanders; one great grandchild: Annabelle Michelle Johnson. Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

    My mother and I so enjoyed knowing Tommye. When we would visit Tommye's uncle "Dud" at Community Compassion Center during their lunchtime we would all sit around a table together. Tommye was such a sweet lady. Condolences and prayers for her family.
