Richard Earl Smith
March 3, 1947 - March 22, 2021

Richard Earl Smith, 74 of Monette, Arkansas passed away Monday, March 22, 2021 at 10:55p.m. while holding his wife’s hand at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born March 3, 1947 in San Juan Puerto Rico, worked many years for the City of Monette and he was a member of the Monette Volunteer Fire Department for twenty five years. He loved being with his family. He is survived by; his wife: Linda, of 52 years: two children: Kim Smith and Katie Barrett (Josh), grandchildren: Elijah Duck and Sarah Barrett; lifelong friend: Butch Dahmer; as well as many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by; his parents: George William Earnest and Dorthy Smith; one brother: Billy; and one sister: Dottie. Service will be Friday, March 26, 2021 at Monette Church of Christ. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. with the service to follow. Family ask in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Monette Fire Department in memory of Richard Earl Smith.
