Gaylon Piercy
October 13, 1931 - December 29, 2020

Gaylon Piercy, 89 of Lake City, Arkansas passed away on December 29, 2020 at NEA Hospital. He was born on October 13, 1931 in Childress, Arkansas to John Edgar and Gracy Griggs. He was a member of the Lake City First Baptist Church and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed hunting, cooking, watching the time on his watch and loved watching the weather. Survivors include; his wife of 44 years: Irene Piercy of the home; three sons: Thomas Piercy (Cynthia) of Forsyth, Georgia, Joey Grooms (Janet) of Paragould, Arkansas, and Glen Grooms (Angie) of Sparta, Michigan; three daughters: Marsha Eldridge (Jeff) of Lake City, Arkansas, Jody Hoover (Bill) of Conway, Arkansas, and Vicky Daemon (Craig) of Omaha, Nebraska; two brothers: William Piercy (Lillie Mae) of Monette, Arkansas and Laymond Piercy of West Helena, Arkansas; one sister: Jewell Rolland of Monette, Arkansas; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends. A special sidekick: DeShayla Bound (Tyler) of Lake City, Arkansas; and his dog: Max. Preceded in death by; his parents: John and Gracy Piercy; grandparents: John and Jennetta Piercy and Robert and Tabitha Griggs; one grandson: Caleb Piercy; one son: Charlie Piercy; one brother: Rufus Piercy; and two sisters: Ruth Grooms and Billie Fern Piercy. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Paragould, Arkansas with Bro. Rick Davis officiating under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lake City First Baptist Church. The family request donations for the funeral be made to Faith Funeral Service in lieu of flowers. Due to Covid 19 guidelines, a mask or other facial covering is required, a Covid 19 acknowledgement form is required to be signed, and social distancing will be observed.

    I am sorry for your loss of Gaylon. I am sorry I can not drive at night to attend visitation or I can't walk in the cemetery and stand for a graveside service. My mother was a cousin to Gaylon and I grew up knowing his kids, etc. Prayers for your family.
