Nelly Don Sturgeon, 89 of Kennett, Missouri passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Westfield Nursing Center in Sikeston, Missouri. She was born on January 31, 1931 in Senath, Missouri to Zack and Beatrice Hays Hastings. She was of the Assembly of God Faith and loved flowers and her dog. Survivors include; one daughter: Karen Young (Robert) of Kennett, Missouri; one stepdaughter: Lisa Worden (Homer) of Hickory Ridge, Arkansas; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by; her parents: Zack and Beatrice Hastings; her husband: Charles Sturgeon; one son: Michael Don Pelts; two brothers: Harold and O’Farrell Hastings; and four sisters: Melba Phifer, Marzell Hastings, Rosella Hastings and an infant. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri with Bro. Marston Carpenter officiating under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. In compliance with Covid 19 guidelines, mask or other facial coverings are required, social distancing will be observed, and a Covid 19 acknowledgement form will be required to be signed.
